Well another 80 minutes at 10 this week against former Italian giants Calvisano. The game as a whole was very frustrating as we again created loads of chances to score but just kept coming up short. Hopefully it will all come together this week ready for our first league game vs Lazio on Saturday. Big game! The score was 7-5 to Calvisano but i'm pretty sure it wasn't boring to watch. Unlike last week i fell short with the touchline conversion to level the game late on so more practice required this week. Not a bad thing as it is still average temperature of 30 degrees every day.
Two days prior to the game we had a little social in the 'Club House' which was probably one of the best feeds i have had here. Started with Pasta, then onto a meat dish with the best sort of like mushy peas but not as mushed as in UK fish and chip shops and then onto a type of arctic roll dessert finished off with a coffee. That was an error on my part as due to not being a big coffee drinker I ended up staying awake probably until 2am which was not the best.
The 'Club House' + arctic roll......
Other stuff that happened this week included getting my hair cut by one of the Italian boys Lofrese who came round after training and had dinner then proceeded to chop my ever receeding barnett. After he had finished hacking it off he told me that he wasn't actually a hair dresser and that he used to do some hair when he was 14 years old just for fun. My Italian is very good and I suppose I deserved that. But hey I probably don't have 10 cuts left so they may as well be different to the short back and sides.
Looking fairly worried. He's loving it though. Ha ha
Again food plays such a big part of Italian life and my next door neighbour ( big saffa mute Meyer Swanepoel ) was gifted this homemade cake from his young Italian room mate. It was amazing. He smashed the lot.
Big week ahead. Hopefully next week I will be reporting on our first league win.....
Until next time. Ciao Ciao.
